In the men’s final, top qualifier David Clark (Manurewa) played bottom qualifier Jim Ballard (Buckland), who had just scaped in with one win and best points of the one winners. It was a tight game right up until the thirteen end with only one point in it and Clark ahead.

But the Buckland team of Jim Ballard, Ken Michelsen & Peter Moulden then picked up 8 points in the last four ends to pull away to a 18-12 victory.

A big thank you to Umpire Vince Hape and the Hunua and Papakura East End Bowling Clubs for hosting the event.
