COUNTIES MANUKAU BOWLS GREENKEEPERS INCORPORATED
Our aim is to help Bowls Counties Manukau Greenkeepers produce as good a Green as possible in our local conditions.
ABOUT US
The Greenkeepers usually hold a Field Day once a year to which all Greenkeepers and Green Superintendents and interested bowlers are invited.
The Greenkeepers are also responsible for a Greens Competition in which all-natural Greens are judged against the Bowls NZ standard with the Best Green being acknowledged at our annual tournament. Also acknowledged is the best Volunteer Greenkeeper.
These awards are given out at the yearly Greenkeepers Tournament. This tournament is our one chance for significant fundraising and is usually well supported by Members of our bowling community.
The Society owns a Verti-drain machine which is put to good use on most of our Greens at renovation time. This machine is capable of coring or spiking to various depths in order to help maintain an excellent bowling surface.
